Business Opportunities for Contractors

Workshop: Friday, June 29

Contractors are invited to participate in a workshop hosted by West Harris County Regional Water Authority (WHCRWA) to discuss business opportunities associated with the Surface Water Supply Project (SWSP) on Friday, June 29 from 8 AM until noon at the Embassy Suites Hilton, 11730 Katy Freeway, Houston 77079.

The SWSP involves construction of a 39-mile long, 8-foot diameter water line spanning Harris County. The project is a joint effort by WHCRWA and North Fort Bend Water Authority (NFBWA) and is designed to help meet water supply demands for 2025 and beyond by bringing surface water from Lake Houston to west Harris and north Fort Bend counties.

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2019 and is divided into multiple segments, with contracting opportunities available for each segment. The workshop is an informational networking session where you can learn how your firm can participate. WHCRWA is interested in the inclusion of certified local Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprises (MWSBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.

Service opportunities are anticipated in the following areas of expertise: welding, electrical, pipefitting, construction flagging, dust abatement, carpentry, surveying, landscaping, trucking, traffic control, stormwater protection, security, and others.

To register for the workshop, email [email protected], or call 844-638-SWSP (7977). More information about the SWSP and WHCRWA can be found at www.SurfaceWaterSupplyProject.com, as well as www.WHCRWA.com.
